When Pros Fan Out On Legendary Pros

Was skating the Encinitas kidney a while back with Chris Miller (one of the best, most stylish skaters of all time) when Jake Brown (a phenom and possible legend himself) cruised up with an old Schmitt Stix Chris Miller deck and a sharpy asking for a "Miller Time" signature. Pretty hot if you ask me—pro's respecting the legends? Damn, right.

New Lost Episodes Starting Next Week

When I was in Hawaii for the Cholo's Quiksilver bowl jam I ran into Locke from lost at the local Starbucks. He was right behind me in line wearing a RVCA shirt. I didn't have my camera on hand so I ran back out to the car snatched it, and ran back to ask him if it would be alright to shoot a pic. "Sure thing." If you didn't know, they film all the episodes in Hawaii.

Deck Of The Week: Jason Jessee

I've been lagging still. Nothing new to report so I had to dig up a few gems. Jason Jessee ripped the Fallbrook ramp harder than anyone back in 1988-89. I don't remember it, but I shot this photo of him there in '89. Jason also had the top selling skateboard in those years and I have one. Sweet!

GnarGnar

Okay, I got this weird thing from Deluxe today and although I really want to check it out I'm not sure if the VHS machine is still working. So yeah, GnarGnar with Gonz, Van Wastell, Hosoi, Alex Olson, and Dan Drehobl. Sounds pretty sweet but I can't just pop it into my computer. Maybe you still have VHS, if so, give GnarGnar a look.

Ahh, Ol' Dirty Crooks Way Back

It's tough being cool. Or at least getting there.

Childress at the Charleston Hangar back in 1991. Looking like one of them Vert Jocks he so often pokes fun at these days.

Phelper!!!!

Found this photo of the Illustrious Jake Phelps from a contest at the Visalia YMCA in 1991. I was a spaz photog back than.

Oh, I guess I still am.

Deck Of The Day

Because I haven't got any new action to post I figured that taking a flick of one of my old boards with a photo of that pro would be kind of hot.

Jeff Phillips was one of the best. Amazing. And died way too young. It would be awesome if he was still with us and ripping all the new shit that's out there.

His Sims pro model that came out in 1984 was the first to have a three inch nose (two inches was pretty much max at the time).

Anyway, remembering Jeff right now. Tip your cap.

Oh yeah, this is the only photo I have of Jeff that I took. Contest in France, 1990.

I Want To Skate Clairmont Again

Damn I miss that park. I wish it wasn't south of work through the traffic zone. I had many good times there. Oh shit, I get to skate there during the trade show in couple weeks—nice! Can't wait to see Navs, Blender, Hewitt and hopefully this guy Whitey charging the place.

Arizona Parks Are Good Fun

Found this photo of Adam Alfaro doing a frontside flip at the Peoria park that never got used. Damn, I miss that state and the amazing parks there in. There is a new park opening this weekend in Goodyear, Arizona.

Swift's Got WMD's

Grant, you said you were off the blog war. Darn. Well, I thought I'd bring out the big guns just in case. My early Lester photos. I sucked.
